About 'Inner Light', by Niall.

'I am delighted to present this new series of watercolours on paper, on the theme of 'Inner Light'. I have really enjoyed developing the series and I have attempted to use colour, forms, energy, movement, contrasts of fuzziness and sharpness, depth, emerging light and space as a visual exploration and vibrant expression of a spectrum of positive emotions, feelings and states of mind.

I am a constantly experimenting artist, continually testing my knowledge and technique. The sharply defined brushstrokes and markings associated with my previous and quite unique paintings in oil on plaster have made way for pure colour and movement, freed from structure and motifs.

Colour is everywhere, creating new territories, extending space and bearing witness to a creative and exuberant force inside me. Coloured forms create a dynamic, which embody, for me, an awakening world and convey a new means of expression - a riot of rhythm and colour. Many have said that they can see mountains, seas and even the galaxy. To me each one is a world in itself, an explosion of colour, mental landscapes and fleeting moments of equilibrium. I feel I am having a privileged relationship with colour, light and space.

I feel I have created what may appear to be a different world, but which is my expression of the inner me, and you are invited to share in this. Enjoy.'
